BOSTON – The Boston Renegades have unveiled their 2019 game schedule. They look to defend their title as National Champions of the Women’s Football Alliance (WFA).
The Renegades will open the season in Tampa on April 6 to take on the Tampa Bay Inferno. Like Boston, Tampa’s initial foray into women’s football began in 2000 with the Women’s Professional Football League (WPFL). Since 2010, the Inferno organization has been a fixture in the WFA. Despite the long trajectories of these two historic programs, this game will mark the very first time women’s football teams from Boston and Tampa Bay square off.
The Renegades’ home opener takes place on April 13 in Revere when they face the New York Wolves. The Wolves have taken up the mantle of women’s football in New York City from the New York Sharks who played their final season in 2018. Coincidentally, it will have been six years to the day since Boston last hosted the New York City team. The Renegades will travel for a road contest against the Wolves on May 4.
The Renegades will face the Baltimore Nighthawks two times this season, at home on May 18 and in Baltimore on June 8. The Philadelphia Phantomz will visit on June 1. And as has become the norm, Boston will face their rivals, the D.C. Divas, twice in the regular season including the regular season finale at home on June 15.
Boston Renegades home games start at 6pm at Harry Della Russo Stadium in Revere. Single-game tickets can be purchased for $15 at the stadium gate, cash and cards accepted. Kids 10 and under enter free. Season Tickets and Group Tickets can be purchased on the team website: bostonrenegadesfootball.com.
