Shani Dummott is a barrier breaker being the first female player to have played on Canton (MA) High School’s varsity football team in 2010. She played on the Bulldogs football team for three years while also excelling on the basketball court. Known for her “trademark intensity,” Shani was the catalyst for the girls varsity hoops squad. As a senior, she was awarded the John Horack Award for “heart, hard work, and dedication to Canton High School.”
Dummott continued playing basketball at Bunker Hill Community College and played NCAA Division III hoops in her senior year at Rhode Island College. After graduation, she returned to Bunker Hill Community College as an assistant basketball coach.
Finding her way back to the football field, Shani Dummott established herself on the Renegades’ special teams and wide receiver corps in 2021. She earned her first All-American honors as a kick returner in 2024.
