Heather Marini headshot

A former multi-sport athlete with a passion for coaching, Heather Marini first became involved in football as a strength coach for a men’s team in her home country of Australia. She soon stepped into other coaching positions, including head coach of an U-19 squad. When the Monash Warriors women’s team was created in 2016, Marini not only ran the offense, but also played quarterback. From under center, she earned the Gridiron Victoria Rookie of the Year award and was named a first team all star. She also played in USA Football’s World Football Games in 2017.

An attendee of the NFL’s Women’s Careers in Football Forum, Heather joined the Brown University Bears football coaching staff in 2019 as the Offensive Quality Control Assistant Coach, making her the second woman to hold a full-time coaching position in NCAA Division I football following Callie Brownson. Marini was then named Quarterbacks Coach in 2020, making her the first female position coach in NCAA Division I football.

After winning a Women’s Football Alliance National Championship ring with the Renegades in 2021, Marini joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a coaching intern as a part of the Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship.

In 2022, Marini was selected to play for the Australian National Team in the IFAF Women’s World Championship.
