Sandra Nesbitt, aka Gumby, became a member of Boston Women’s Football by joining the New England Intensity in 2012. But she started her football playing career in 2005 with the Empire State Roar. She continued with the New York Nemesis through 2010 and then played a year for the Erie Illusion before joining the Intensity. In 2015, she became an original Boston Renegade.
Nesbitt is a barrier breaker as well, having become the first black female tackle football coach for Buffalo, N.Y., Public Schools. She was a Head Coach for the East High School Panthers junior varsity team from 2011-2014 and became an assistant coach for the varsity team.
Currently, Coach Nesbitt operates G7 FLAG, an all-girls flag football league in Buffalo.
