Monday, December 25, 2018
BOSTON – The Boston Renegades are excited to welcome Birmingham (U.K.) Lions Running Back Ruth Matta aboard for the 2019 Women’s Football Alliance (WFA) season.
Ruth has been one of the best running backs in Europe for the past few years, with many tournament MVP awards and other honors to her credit. We are eager for her arrival and look forward to her contributions to our 2019 campaign.
We sincerely appreciate Ruth’s efforts and sacrifices to make this possible, and would be remiss to not express our heartfelt gratitude to Jo Kilby, the Birmingham Lions General Manager, the Lions ownership, management, coaching staff, and teammates. We are honored to have Ruth on the Renegades and to grow the sport of women’s tackle football.
We wish Ruth and the Lions the best as they seek to win their sixth consecutive BAFA Sapphire Cup championship this winter.
The Boston Renegades 2019 season practices begin January 8, 2019. Games will be played at Harry Della Russo Stadium in Revere starting next April.
