Renegades advance to Women's pro football national championship game

REVERE MA — Stephanie Pascual, Chanté Bonds, and Tytti Kuusinen scored two touchdowns apiece as Boston overwhelmed the visiting Alabama Fire in the conference championship game. Allison Cahill threw five TD passes en route to a 58-6 victory.

Spring Gamble led the Renegades defense with a fumble recovery and 10 combined tackles including two for losses. The defensive unit collected three total turnovers and scored a safety in a complete performance.

The previously undefeated Alabama Fire reached the conference final by edging the Pittsburgh Passion in the quarterfinals. The narrow 8-7 victory set up the first ever matchup between women’s football teams from Boston and Alabama.
